The Studio

Fully Equipped With a Reformer, Cadillac/Trapeze table, Wunda Chair and Spine Correctors

The Findhorn Studio is fully equipped with a Reformer, Cadillac/Trapeze table, Wunda Chair, spine correctors, these are all bespoke apparatus originally designed by the late Joseph Pilates. The Studio also has physio balls and small props.

The Pilates apparatus can look quite daunting. The various pieces of equipment offer a grid for the teacher to check the client’s alignment and to ensure good symmetry of movement. The client is able to feel the imbalances when pushing/pulling the springs on the machines, giving instant feedback as the movement is being performed. The exercises on the apparatus can vary from gentle foot and ankle work to wonderful full body movement with lots of co-ordination for brain and body combined. The exercises are carefully chosen to suit the clients’ needs and ability. There are hundreds of options in the repertoire.

The session on the equipment can be done individually or in pairs. An appointment with Sarah needs to be made in advance. An enrolment form needs to be completed and discussed with Sarah at the start of an initial session and directions will be give for the Studio.

The Apparatus Studio

In the apparatus studio the equipment provides a closed chain environment providing the teacher with a ‘symmetrical grid’ to assess and correct misalignments, heightening client proprioception, giving feedback, assistance and /or resistance during the movement being performed.
